-Science Project Check in #3 is due in Class Chatter on Monday morning
-Science Project extension applications begin Nov 29. Remember this extension is for serious reasons only, it is NOT for those that procrastinate. You must apply for the extension approval from me. Please do this during the last 5 minutes of the class period ONLY.
-We will begin working on an in class project starting on Nov 30/Dec 1. Please bring your thumb drive with you to class each day.
-We will also begin reviewing for our unit test on Waves which will be coming up toward the end of next week. I will announce the date this week and study guides will be given out in class.

Science Project Info
We discussed a lot of Science Project info this past week. Below you will find all of the items that we discussed as well as the presentation board layout. I am also putting those items in your resources folder of CCL.
SCIENCE PROJECT CHECK IN #3- DUE NOV 29
this is a two paragraph process update. Please tell me where you are in your testing phase so far, what probelms you might have encountered and what is going well for you.

You have from Nov 29 to Dec 9 to apply for an extension to your project. You will receive an extension slip from me that MUST be turned in with you project. If you receive an extension you will be allowed to hand in your project after winter break without penalty.

"Travels of a Wave" comic Strip
Here are the directions to the activity that We worked on today in class.
The Travels of a Wave!!!
A comic strip
You are a comic strip designer and you will be writing and illustrating a new comic strip chronicling the “travels of a wave”
You must include the following elements in your comic book:
-your main character must be a wave. Come up with a creative and clever name for the character relating to our topic of study
-a creative storyline and illustrations
-The following vocabulary words:
Amplitude
Wavelength
Frequency
Wave Speed
-the Wave Equation must be mentioned or utilized in your storyline
-the relationship between frequency and wavelength must be clear after reading your comic book
Build upon and utilize what we have learned in our previous lesson on the Nature of Waves as well as what you have just read in Chapter 10 section 2 as the basis for your comic book. Be as creative as you can!!!

You have lost the paddles for the canoe that you rented, and the canoe has drifted to the center of a pond. You need to get the canoe back to the shore, but you do not want to swim in the pond. Your friend suggests dropping rocks behind the canoe to create waves that will push it toward the shore. Will this solution work? Why or why not?

-completed "crazy waves lab"if you have not already done so. This was begun in class last week.
