Finish "journey on the rock cycle" assignment that we began in class. You will need to use your 'passport' and your rock cycle notes.
Writing Prompt:
Imagine you are a part of the rock cycle. Write a creative story following your journey on the rock cycle. Write about how you changed, the forces that changed you, and what kind of rock you changed into.
Use your “Journey on the Rock Cycle” passport as a guide. Be creative, have fun and demonstrate your knowledge of the rock cycle!
Use the Following R.A.F.T to help focus your writing
R.ole- A rock on the rock cycle
A.udiece-someone who knows nothing about the rock cycle
F.ormat- A travel article
T.opic-A journey on the rock cycle
RUBRIC:
10 pts--Completed written steps (1-12) that you traveled on the rock cycle
10 pts—Completed 12 drawings of steps you traveled on the rock cycle
20 pts—Writing Prompt: written demonstration of knowledge of the rock cycle through creative writing prompt. This indicates that student understands the forces/processes that shape the Earth, three different types of rocks and the ways in which these rocks are changed.
You will also need to complete the diagram on pgs 208-209 in the Green Book of the rock cycle. It must be neat, colored and labeled/with notes. This will be graded as part of your flip chart.
